Cimcorp Sales Manager’s session will explore the convergence of robotics, software and the Internet of Things (IoT) as part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution
GRIMSBY, Ontario – June 04, 2019 – Cimcorp, a manufacturer and integrator of turnkey robotic order fulfillment and tire handling solutions, announces Sales Manager Don Heelis will present a session at the Tire and Rubber Summit 2019 produced by the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada. Titled, “Latest Trends in Automation: How to Improve Productivity in Tire Manufacturing,” Heelis’ session will cover the impact of automation and the wider Fourth Industrial Revolution, or “Industry 4.0,” on tire manufacturing and distribution.
Scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on June 12, Heelis’ presentation complements the Tire & Rubber Summit’s “Driving to the Future” theme, which focuses on how new technologies are helping companies reach their business goals. He will explore how the convergence of robotics, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), software and data via the Internet of Things (IoT) is forging new cyberphysical manufacturing environments.
“In this Industry 4.0 plant of the future, tire producers can capture data to better understand their processes, run analyses and use the results to improve throughput and material flow,” said Heelis. “Through the seamless exchange of data between the physical and cyber world, they can have total control over their end-to-end production processes, with the ability to pivot and shift operations to changes in the marketplace as needed.”
As a mechanical engineer, Don Heelis has been exposed to a broad range of industries throughout his career. He has seen firsthand how processes and operations have evolved over the past 25 years with the implementation of automation. Currently, Heelis works with Cimcorp’s customers, including major global tire manufacturers, to create unique solutions that meet their manufacturing and distribution needs.
