Cimcorp, manufacturer and integrator of turnkey robotic handling solutions, has made Sales Manager Veli-Matti Hakala responsible for business development in China’s tire sector.
Ulvila, Finland – With an M.Sc. in Automation Technology from the University of Tampere, Finland, Hakala has 20 years’ industry experience, with the majority of his roles being in engineering and automation. He has held positions as Technical Manager, General Manager and Business Manager in international business, involved in the development and sales of automation solutions. “I look forward to starting work with our Chinese customers, in addition to continuing to serve our clients in India,” he said.
Hakala previously worked in a support role for Cimcorp’s Senior Sales Manager, Esa Valtonen, during which time he was able to become familiar with China’s tire producers.
“In this role, it was clear to me that Industry 4.0 is the standard that most Chinese tire manufacturers are either following or seriously aiming towards,” said Hakala. “With Dream Factory, Cimcorp can offer end-to-end solutions – including the required software – to enable implementation of Industry 4.0 for customers in both greenfield and brownfield plants.”
Cimcorp has supplied automation for 7 of the world’s top 10 tire manufacturers, as well as solutions for a number of the tire sector’s agile newcomers, such as Sentury in China and Apollo in India. “We want to be the preferred automation supplier that is taken on board in the initial design phase,” explained Kai Tuomisaari, “when the factory layout is designed and capacity calculations and material flow analysis are made. It is in this phase that radically new ideas can be considered and the best possible automation solution achieved. For any Chinese tire manufacturers planning new factories or plant expansions, Veli-Matti Hakala is the man to call!”
