Ulvila, Finland – Cimcorp has reached the gold level for the third time in a row in the CSR evaluation platform, EcoVadis, and is in the top 2 percent of companies in the Manufacture of General-purpose Machinery sector.

“We want to be an attractive employer and the best partner for our customers. It is important that we as a group do business responsibly, across all locations,” highlights Miia Vironen, Cimcorp’s QHSE Director.

Our corporate responsibility covers the whole supply chain and the pandemic has emphasized our responsibility towards all Cimcorpers, subcontractors and customers.

Harmonized global processes in the future

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or business sustainability means the commitment to act responsibly by integrating social and environmental concerns into business operations. It includes actions such as protection of human rights, adhering to ethical business practices (anti-corruption, whistle-blower mechanisms etc.), taking responsibility for all environmental impacts of the business, extending responsibility to the supply chain and promoting transparency in reporting.

“Corporate responsibility forms an umbrella that covers all actions in Cimcorp Group. The ultimate goal is to have harmonized global operating procedures and processes under our management system, and have all business units certified in the future,” continues Miia.

Companies’ stakeholders, such as customers and employees worldwide, are nowadays very interested in how companies are conducting their business and affecting the surrounding world and society.

“It is not acceptable that companies are successful at any cost; business needs to be done in a sustainable and smart way,” states Outi Jusi QHSE Specialist at Cimcorp.

More transparency through certification

“We are taking sustainability seriously and we want to show it. EcoVadis offers an easy and credible platform to share sustainability rating information with our stakeholders and to undertake benchmarking,” explains Outi.

EcoVadis provides universal sustainability ratings for companies. The platform assesses companies’ policies and actions as well as their published reporting related to the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The method is based on international sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000).

Examples of some of the actions we have taken lately to be a more sustainable and responsible company

  • We are strengthening our supply chain management through enhanced supplier criteria, assessment and selection.
  • Dare to Care coaching sessions held in Finland to promote safety culture and to offer tools to give positive and constructive feedback and to intervene e.g. in risk behaviors. The Dare to Care concept will also be introduced globally.
  • Our operating processes have been modeled and intensified to improve them.
