The holidays are a time for celebration, gratitude, and reflection. If there’s anything that 2020 has taught us, it’s to count our blessings in face of adversity. So, as we begin to dust off the elf on the shelf and prepare for the holiday season, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on some of the great things that have happened at Cimcorp in 2020.
Like many businesses, we started the year off with great optimism. We were able to attend tradeshows like the Tire Technology Expo in Hannover in Germany and Modex in Atlanta in the United States. These were all fantastic opportunities to reconnect with our customers in person and to talk to new companies to learn about the challenges they are trying to overcome.
In March 2020 we saw the beginnings of the pandemic that would come to reshape the way the world would do business for the remainder of the year. Cimcorp was no different. We were quick to create a safe working environment for our amazing staff and look for ways to seamlessly continue working on projects for our customers.
And despite the unique challenges brought on by the pandemic, we were able to experience and achieve many positive things:
- Cimcorp saw continued growth in many key markets around the world. We brought on Jarkko Hakkarainen as General Manager of a new office in Spain and Joel Kuusman as Manager of Operations and Technology Services of our U.S. office. The U.S. office also moved to a larger location in Atlanta, enabling us to expand our services to the local marketplace.
- Providing excellence in all areas of business is very important to Cimcorp and in 2020 we were happy to achieve gold-level status for the third time in a row for our commitment to social and environmental responsibility from the corporate social responsibility (CSR) evaluation platform, EcoVadis. Notably, we were in the top two percentile in the Manufacture of General-purpose Machinery sector. Cimcorp also won a Journey to Automation (J2A) Award, which recognized us as a leading player in the automation and digital transformation of the tire industry.
- Cimcorp is passionate about providing unique solutions for our customers and we were thrilled to announce new projects for Spanish grocery retailer, Alimerka, U.S. convenience store chain bakery, Kwik Trip, and German food retailer Netto Marken-Discount.
- While prioritizing the health and safety of our team members and customers, we successfully completed projects with the help of remote commissioning technology and continued to develop and sell unique solutions through safe distancing protocols.
Challenges were overcome!
It’s hard to predict what 2021 will bring, but I’m confident that Cimcorp will adapt and continue to work hard to provide excellence in all areas of our business.
We wish our customers continued success and we look forward to serving you in the New Year.
