Journey to Automation (J2A) Award recognizes leading players in the field of automation and digital transformation of the tire industry. Cimcorp won its category, Tire Manufacture – Suppliers, with “Improving data analytics of the tire factory”.
Ulvila, Finland – Compared to machine suppliers, as a system integrator, Cimcorp has interface and access to whole tire manufacturing process, and company’s systems manage the whole material flow from raw materials to shipping of finished tires. Being also a MES supplier to tire industry, company also has interface to production machinery.
“This means that there is access to all possible data related to tire manufacturing and we believe that nobody has made analytics for tire industry in such a magnitude”, says Jyrki Anttonen, Cimcorp’s Technology Director.
Judges commented on Cimcorp’s work – Improving data analytics of the tire factory – as followed: “This is an automation route that can significantly improve the efficiency and output of tire plant. Cimcorp has developed a tire production dashboard, and its leveraging data from different sources to improve the complete flow in tire manufacturing from the material handling to the finished goods. This is already in use internationally.”
Judging panel consisted of journalists and editors of tire industry magazines including organizer European Rubber Journal, Tire Business and other experts of tire industry and automation.
