Under the direction of the Manager, US Operations & Technology Services, the Site Manager is responsible for leading the technical installation of Cimcorp automation systems at various customer sites across the United States and globally.

This role will be responsible for site preparation, sub-contractor management, quality assurance, managing on-site deliveries, ensuring on-site safety, customer training, and reaching installation schedules and deadlines. In this leadership position, the Site Manager will also act as a liaison between Project Managers and the customer site and provide updates on progress made.

Details of duties:

  • Lead the installation of Cimcorp automation systems at customer sites.
  • Act as the main point of contact on-site for the customer and participate in on-site meetings and discussions.
  • Responsible for verifying material storage, lifting plans, and critical layout dimensions.
  • Responsible for the on-site management of subcontractors.
  • Ensure there are adequate resources and personnel for the installation based on project schedules and budget.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are readily available for usage.
  • Responsible for the handling and receiving of on-site deliveries and coordination between Cimcorp and the customer.
  • Provide quality assurance by determining if the equipment meets quality standards.
  • Working with the local site safety representative, ensure safety protocols and procedures are in place and being followed.
  • Act as a liaison between the Project Managers and customers by reporting on installation progress on a daily basis.
  • Responsible to perform preventative maintenance tasks when site management work is not available.
  • Ensure all Cimcorp health and safety policies, procedures, and responsibilities under the OHSA, are followed during all work activities both at the installation site and at Cimcorp USA Inc.
  • Participate in workgroup team projects and/or corporate-related activities as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skill/knowledge requirements:

  • Strong ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and possess assembly and maintenance skills. Fabrication and machine shop skills and/or electrical knowledge would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to train customers on mechanical systems through effective communication, demonstration, and formal instruction. Ability to prepare and update supporting documentation.
  • Troubleshooting skills using various PLCs and software programs, including the HMI and controls of the systems used by Cimcorp.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to deal courteously and effectively with all levels of staff, the public, customers, partners, and any other potential stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills, discretion, and demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment when handling confidential/sensitive information and communicating with customers regarding controversial matters.
  • Effective organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize work to meet the customer’s deadlines without compromising service.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • General knowledge of automation and robot technologies including mechanical systems, electrical systems, and software systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet.
  • Spoken/written knowledge of additional languages is an asset.

Qualifications/certifications:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree specializing in industrial automation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in an industrial/engineering/automation industry in a supervisory capacity.

Travel requirements

  • Travel is required for this position averaging between 75%-90%.
  • Valid driver’s license, passport, and non-restrictive travel ability to market countries are requirements for
